I used to hate writing about myself, as I prefer to stay in the shadows and quietly get things done. But job-hunting in this crazy economy has forced me to put myself out there in all sorts of ways. I enjoy learning and teaching myself about how things work, and I take great pleasure in turning around and using my knowledge to teach others. I love it when people ask me questions, even if I have to search for the answers.
I'm originally from Washington, D.C., by way of Connecticut, Maryland, and Massachusetts, and now I live in lovely San Diego, California, with my wife and our twins. I'm currently in the midst of a soul-searching career change, leaving the world of non-profit technical theatre project managment. Some of the possible future paths I'm considering include engineering (perhaps mechanical, electrical, structural, or aerospace), technical writing, web development, or construction management.
If you're working in any of those fields, I'd love to talk with you about your job! Just click on the "Reach Me" button at the top or the bottom of the page and drop me a line. Thanks!
I'm looking for a career where my contributions are valued and there are opportunities for growth and leadership, with challenge and a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. I want to take pride in my work, and have something to show for it at the end of a project. I hope to find a path that will build upon my strong background in project management, computer science, teaching, and technology.
